Explore printmaking here at Grafik House and create your own two-layer relief print using only one block!

Each participant will receive 12 quarter sheets (11 × 15”) of hole-punched Rives BFK paper and a block to carve. Inks provided will consist of yellow, blue, and red for color mixing, and also include black, white, and transparent base. Modifiers include setswell compound, magnesium carbonate, and drier. Jigs will be used for reliable registration.

Students should plan to bring their own carving tools. If you don’t own any tools I recommend Powergrip carving sets for beginners. If you’d like to invest in good, quality tools I recommend purchasing your tools through McClain’s Printmaking supplies. Your sets should definitely include at least a V and U gouge.

This will be a great opportunity to learn, or refine your knowledge, of relief with others to provide a balance of focus, fun, and community.
